Brick Store.
Your scribe attended an cld-fash
ioned Georgia barbecue one day last
week, which was gotten up as a. fam
ily reunion dinner. Besides barbecued
meats, hash and Brunswick stew,
there were plenty of other good things
to eat, prepared by the ladies. The
most interesting feature in the
gram was the father and mother who
headed the march from the house to
the beautiful shade where the table
was placed, laden with many good
things for the crowd. Behind the
father and mother, according to their
ages, came the children with their
husbands and wives:—and by the way,
the father of this family has sixteen
children, all living except one. They
were all present, with two sons-in
law, and two daughters-in-law. This
family makes Roosevelt’s big family
look like 30 cents, and the father of
this family is only 50 years old.
There is only one grand-child, and
four generations were represented.
If you Editors want to have a good
time get out in the country at a Geor¬
gia ’cue and the good time is assured
already. Try it sometime. There
were about sixty people present and
everything passed off nicely and ev¬
eryone enjoyed the day to the fullest.
After dinner was served those so dis¬
posed repaired to a place selected for
target practice, and some very line
shooting was done. One of the young
married ladies was one among the
crowd making the best score, by hit¬
ting a marble on top of a post at a
distance of 90 feet with an automatic
rifle. The writer bid this interesting
family goodby at four o’clock with
the hope of attending many more din¬
ners like this one.
