The Discoverer of The Pole, Dr.
Cook, Was Indeed Fortunate
To Get Back.
While there is a lot of contention
just now between Dr. Frederick Cork
and Mr. Perry as to which of the two
discovered the North Pole, it is real
interesting to the public to know how
many lives have been lost in the
search for this elusive “top side.”
Below we publish a list of lives lost
by explorers and whose names have
gone down in history. We take this
table from the Macon Telegraph,
which is usually authentic when it
