Mayor Smith is in receipt of a letter
from the authorities of the Central
Railway that the shed at the crossing
at Railroad street will be erected.
Mr. Walter Corley, the popular
postmaster of Starrsville, was in the
city Saturday looking after business
interests and shaking hands with his
old friends. While here he was a
pleasant caller at the News office.
A number of citizens of this county
went down to the state fair at Macon
last week and all were very loud in
their praise of the exhibits there this
year.

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Loyd and little
daughter of Leguin were the guest of

Mr. Authur Hilley, of Ark., is
spending several weeks with his pa¬
