Mr. and Mrs. Harmon McDonald
and lovely little daughter, Florence,
spent Thanksgiving in the country
with Mrs. McDonald’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. J. W. Black.
Mrs. C. A. Franklin and children,
Rufus and Josephine, went up to At¬
lanta Wednesday at noon and spent
Thanksgiving, returning Thursday af¬
ternoon on the late train.
Miss Ruby Ezelle, one of Monticel
lo’s most charming and popular young
ladies, has returned home after a de¬
lightful visit to her sister, Miss Bessie
Ezelle and Miss Ruby Weaver.
Mrs. S. J. Graves, of Marietta, who
has been spending sometime in the

Miss Lottie Hendrick returned home
Friday after a very pleasant visit.
Miss Annie Higgins, who is teach¬
ing in the Monroe High school, came
up Wednesday afternoon and spent
several days in the city with her pa¬
rents, Dr. and Mrs. W. J. Higgins.
Miss Lillie Brown, a charming young
lady of Fort Yalley, who has been
visiting Mrs. Walter Corley at Starrs¬
ville spent Friday in the city the guest
of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. R. Pennington.

Miss Essie Jordan was the charm¬
ing hostess at a delightful little in¬
formal tea Saturday afternoon when
she entertained the members of her
bowling club at her home on Church
street in honor of her house party
guests, Misses Ruth King, of Atlanta,
and Christine White, of Covington.
Woman’s Club Notes.
The Woman’s Club will hold a ba¬
zaar next week for the benefit of the
Library. Further notice will be
made later.
The next regular meeting will be
on the Third Tuesday in December.
The subject will be Julius Caesar.
The leaders are Mrs. J. W. Lee, Mrs.
J. B. Davis and Mrs. W. G. Burt.
Misses Lewis and Keith Entertain.
A delightfully informal affair of
last week was that at which Misses
Keith and Lewis entertained a few
friends Saturdad evening at the beau¬
tiful home of Mr. E. O. Lee, in honor
of their guest, Miss Lue Lee Watts,
of Madison, who has been spending a
few days with them.

A pretty affair of last week was the
afternoon reception at which Mrs. A.
H. Foster entertained a number of
her friends Friday at her pretty home
on Thompson avenue in honor of her
lovely young sister-in-law, Mrs. Hugh
Foster, of Mansfield, who was her
guest for the week end.
The home was very attractive with
its decorations of handsome palms,
ferns and foliage plants.
Mrs. Foster received her guests
wearing a pretty afternoon toilet of
wistaria cloth with black trimmings,
while Hugh Foster was charming in
handsome cream messaline gown with
a touch of blue. Dainty refreshments
were served.
