Mr. George Carr has been spending
some time on his Rockdale plantation,
making repairs and looking after the
general upkeep of his buildings.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. Peek and
daughter, Peggy, with Mrs. Lunsford,
motored down for a week-end visit to
Covington anil Mansfield relatives.
Misses Xatalie Turner and Lucy
White, Messrs. C. H. White, Jr. and
Guy Robinson motored to Atlanta for
the Ellso demonstration last week.
Mrs. Harry King Brooks and little
daughter, Artemesia. left Thursday for
their home in Washington, after visit¬
ing the Wright and Franklin relatives.

Mrs. Annie Rainey and son. of Colum¬
bus. are enjoying an extended western
tour.
Mrs. TV. H. Evans accompanied Mr.
Paul Evans and family on their return
to Atlanta, and will spend some time
in Decatur and Atlanta with her chil¬
dren .
.Mr. and Mrs. John L. Callaway and
son, Lamar, spent several days at Mon
ticello. They went over to attend a Lil
kputian wedding in which their nephew
figured.
Friends are rejoicing that Miss Lyda
Sue Bower's condition is such that she
is able to lie at home, after having
spent some time in Wesley Memorial
Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Flowers, Misses
Elizabeth and Ruth Flowers, with Her¬
bert Vining. were in Atlanta Thursday
for the Elks’ parade and to see Mr.
Jack Flowers.
Mr. A. S. Wilson, traveling repre¬
sentative of the Whiting Paper Compa¬
ny. visited his sisters Mrs. Robert Webb
and Miss Mollie Webb, in Oxford, dur
ing the week.
Mrs. Felix Wright and children, Mrs.
Wright, Mrs. Robert Trippe, Miss Mary
Trippe and Robert. Jr., enjoved the hos¬
pitality of Mrs. TV. TV. Aiken’s home
during the week.
Among those attending the Elks’ pa¬
rade in Atlanta were Messrs. Lee Tram¬
mell. Clarence Meador, Perino Dearing,
1 eon and Philip Cohen. A. S. Wilson,
TV. B. R. Pennington, and Emmett
Rogers.
Covington friends will be glad to
know that Mr. Walter Childs, Jr., is
now at his home on Peachtree street.
Atlanta, after several weeks spent in
the Georgia Baptist Hospital for an ap¬
pendicitis operation.
Mcsdames Joseph Pye. of Woodland.
T. B. Lumsden. of Talbot county, Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest Xorris and daughter,
of South Carolina, and Mr. Robert Nor¬
ris. of Birmingham, have returned to
their respective homes after several
days with the Norris and Andrews rela¬
tives.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Elliott and chil¬
dren have returned from a motor trip
to the mountains.
Leaving Covington Tuesday morning,
after 9 o’clock, they were at Franklin,
N. C. for supper. The night was spent
with Mrs. Hunnicutt, a kinswoman of
Mrs. R. A. Norris.
Asheville and all of that marvellous
mountain country which is truly, “The
Land of the Sky,” were enjoyed. They
visited Waynesville, Lake Junaluska,
the Taxaway region, Bernard and Hen¬
derson.
Returning, the Tallulah Falls section
was explored and a happy meeting with
the Covington contingent at the Cliff
House. The trip from Clayton back
home was accomplished in about four
and one-half hours.

Blythe in Charlotte, N. C., Miss Annie
Laurie Peek has been the recipient of
especial courtesies.
On Tuesday evening a Heart Dice
party was given, complimentary to Miss
Peek.
Mr. John Choats, of Huntersville, N.
C., entertained for Miss Peek, and a
congenial party spent the week-end at
Blowing Rock, a mountain resort of
North Carolina.
