Atlanta, Sept. 5.—If the false
hair industry continues to thrive
as it has in recent years, bald
ness ought to become less con
spicuous, according to Atlanta
hair dressers and wig shops.
Local dealers says that Chi
nese hair for the manufacture of
wigs, switches and curls is being
crowded off the market by Rus¬
sian hair. The Soviet govern¬
ment has opened a large hair
•warehouse from which it sup¬
plies German wig makers. This
has come about through the ex¬
change situation, which makes it
cheaper to procure hair in Rus¬
sia than in China.
The best patrons of hair deal
ers are women. They
their hair whenever the fashion
changes.

the school mail box
There is always an interest
! ing time for the agriculture class
at Hillcrest school, in Waukesha
j ! mail county, arrives. Wisconsin, No wonder, when for the the
1 class search the advertising col
i umns of the papers and maga
' zines that come to the school.
S When they see anything that
they think will be of interest to
-them, they write for it immedi¬
ately. They are greatly interest¬
ed in dairy cows, because nation¬
al dairy cow champions live in
walking distance of the school.
They write all over the world to
cattle breeders’ associations for
advertising material, and to the
owners of dairy cow champions
for pictures of their prize ani¬
mals. From this material they
get information and illustrations
for their notebooks. But the
knowledge they seek is not con
fined to dairy cows. Their agri
cultural notebooks show hov
many topics have been enliven
ed by incidents and illustrations
found in farm bulletins, seed
catalogs, pamphlets and bulle
tins issued by manufacturers of
farm machinery.
Every rural school should have
a mail box. The teacher’s mail
be delivered there. The
school should take a daily paper,
a current magazine suitable foi
elementary school children, and
a farm journal. It should be on
the mailing list for certain bul¬
letins and pamphlets issued by
state and national agencies of
agriculture and pub-!
lie health.
