The regular meeting of the Carmel
W. M. U. met at the home of Mrs.
John Lazenby last Wednesday after
noon. The subject, “Youth and the
Changing Age,” was presented by the
members of society. Delicious refresh
ments were served by the hostess, as
sisted by her daughter, Miss Susie
Lazenby. The meeting adjourned to
meet one month later.
Mrs. Ollie Blackwell and Mrs. Edgar
Lazenby visited Mrs. Stone, of Monti
celio, Wednesday.
Mrs. Howell Hays and daughter,
Mary Ida, of Hayston, visited Mrs.
Ernest Hays Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Thompson, of
Union Point, stopped at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Wright a short
while afternoon, spending
the night with Mr. Carlton Poison.
Mr. Pearl Loyd and daughter, Mar
garet. of Eatonton, attended the fun
eral of Mr. Henry Hitchcock last

Methodist church met Monday after
noon. Mrs. E. H. Adams had charge
of the program, the subject. “The Call
of Youth,” was presented by Mrs. Ad
ams. Mrs. Guy Morgan, Mrs. W. N.
Blake and Mrs Epps. After a busi
ness session the meeting adjourned.

Mrs. “Bill” Hollis, of Ft. Myers,
Fla., is spending several weeks with
her parents. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hays.
Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Reynolds, of
Clayton, came Saturday afternoon to
their home here. We are always glad
to have them hack.
Mr. Ivey Loyd and son. of Florida,
are spending a while with Mrs. Sadie
Loyd and Mrs. J. Hat Roquemore.

Mrs. A. E. Hays entertained last
Monday in honor of Miss Margaret
Loyd, of Eatonton, with a spend the
day party. Those enjoying the occa
sion were Misses Margaret Loyd. Ida

len Marks, Evielyn Adams. Merle
Hays Mary Alice Hannah and Ruby
Hays. A very pleasant time was re
ported.
Mansfield was well represented at
the peach packing at Mr. Jackson's
home at Hayston this week. The
loaches are not so plentiful this year.
Mrs. Rufus Franklin and Mrs. Mat
tie Epps are spending the week with
their mother. Mrs. W. F. Adams.
Mrs. Robert Blackwell and Misses
Nellie and Lucile McClendon visited
Mrs. Clark Cunard. of Monticelio, last
Saturday.

Porter Friday afternoon.
The house was a scene of color, with
many lovely garden flowers placed
about in baskets and vases.
After the games the hostess served
a dainty salad course with iced tea.
Missionary Society Meets
The Junior Missionary Society en
joyed a pleasant and social meeting at
the home of Miss Elizabeth Smith on
Monday afternoon. About sixteen
members were present and many
games were enjoyed from five until
eight o’clock.
The hostess served punch and cream
cones.
