Smith visited Mrs. Bernard Greer in
Covington last Tuesday.
Lucile McClendon spent from Satur
day until Wednesday with her aunt,
Tessie Ozburn, in Atlanta.
The club who were entertained
in Covington Wednesday of last week
report a fine time.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold returned Sun
day after a pleasant stay with rela
tives at Monroe.
Mr. and Mrs. Warren Franklin and
daughter, Mary, of Atlanta, came Sat
urday to see Mr. and Mrs. R. G.
Franklin, Mrs. Franklin and Mary
spending the week.
Mrs. IV. C. Starr entertained at a
lovely party at her home from 5 to 7
last Friday afternoon in honor of the
girls who have just returned from col
lege and the high school graduates
here. The perch was decorated with
ferns and swinging baskets. The living
room was beautiful with white dah
lias and shasta daisies carrying out
the color scheme of white and yellow.
As the guests entered little Miss Eliz
abeth Starr, daughter of the hostess,
dressed in a yellow cerep dress, serv
ed punch. Games and contests were
enjoyed. Tliere were four college rep
resented and each one contributed
something from their college for the
entertainment of the others. Ice cream
and individual white cakes embossed
with yellow, were served. Miniature
diplomas, tied with yellow ribbon,
were the favors—a block of chewing
gum and a tooth pick was given to
each out to make a likeness of their
future husbands. This afforded much
merriment. Those invited were Miss
Frances Campbell, of Wesleyan; Miss
Kathleen Morse, of La Grange; Misses
Lois Hays, Sara Roquemore, Louise
Starr and Pauline Hardman, of G. S.
T. C.; Misses Ainnie C. Hays, Evielyn
Barnes, Edith Johnston and FI eta
Benton, of G. S. C. W.; and Misses
Sara Loyd, Ruth Hitchcock, Ruby
Hitchcock, Elizabeth Harwell. Paul

week-end with Mrs. A. E. Hays. Mr.
and Mrs. Hays carried her home Sun
day evening.
Mrs. Brooks Pennington, Miss Hor
tense Braswell, and Miss Louise Tur
