Since the meeting came during Week of Prayer the usual pro gram was omitted. The program was given by Mrs. J. A. Wright, it was the "Call to Worship.” She presented it in a very forceful way. The songs “Take Time to be Holy” and "What A Friend” were both used in connection with her presentation. After the program the week of prayer offering was taken. Also a rising vote of thanks was given to Mrs. Waites for her service during the year. She has made a wonderful leader for us. The Kiwanians and their ladies gathered together for the first time in many months and the affair was most enjoyable. Dean George Roach presided during the dinner and welcomed the ladies. After the dinner was served President Roach turned the meeting over to Nat Turner who was in charge of the program. The first number on the program was a selection of songs beautifully rendered by Mrs. Ernest Lee Step henson and the Kiwanians evi denced their approval by the I hearty applause given each num ber. Next on the program was Miss Mary Loucy Butler who entertain ed with tap dancing. She is a talented young lady and her num bers were roundly applauded. After this the Kiwanians were placed on one side of the room and the ladies on the other. With Jack Porter as schoolmaster a series of questions were asked in the same nature as a spelling bee. Jack kept life in the party by his witty man ner in questioning. All went well j until Abe Loyd broke up the party by using an old schoolboy trick, and the Dean dismissed the school and the club by a tap of the bell. Miss Julia Porter Is | Honored . Election into this fraternity re quires a certain high scholastic attainment, and is limited to those who do exceptionally good work in the classics.
