vice in Georgia under Col. Elijah
Clarke and John Chapman was
under General Elbert.
In 1820 it is said, Rev. Giles
Chapman was a shaplain in the
military company of Wm. F. Hou
seal, in regiment under Col. Phile
mon Watters. His home at that
time was in Ninety six district,
not far from Newberry S. C.
In 1827, according to the New
