Lend Helping Hand
| Cordele.—Some people are strong
on helping starving Armenians or
the flood sufferers in China, but
cur hats are off to the citizens of
Crisp county, who believe in look
ing around at home to help their
neighbors. A few weeks ago the son
of a widow mother was working in
his field when a bolt of lightning
killed the mule he was plowing and
rendered the man himself incap
able of work for a long time.'There I
was no spoken cry for help from
the mother, although there was no

when there is sickness and suffer-!
! ing. But neighbors went out
mules and farming tools; the corn,;
the cotton and peanuts are being
worked—not by one farmer, but by |
many, from the one-plow farmer,
to the ten and twelve plow farmer
One man said he would send ten i
plows if necessary ‘The hat’’ was
passed at church for the mother;
the neighbors gave their ’mites” and j
others have given at different
times "as they have prospered ’
