Miss Margaret Pare pa Moore Becomes
Bride of William Bomar Travis
A marriage of widespread interest
was that of Miss Margaret Parepa
Moore of Lyons, Georgia, and Mt
William Bomar Travis, of Coving
ton and Lyons.
The impressive ceremony was
quietly solemnized on Monday af
ternoon. July 10th. at six o'clock at
the Baptist Pastorium, in Vidalia,
Georgia.
Both young people are repre
sentatives of long distinguished
Southern families.
The bride is an only daughter of !
Mr. and Mrs. J. Wesley Moore, of
Lyons. Her beautiful personality
and charming manner has made her
one of the most popular members of
the younger contigent. Mrs. Travis
received her education in 'he Lyons
schools and at G. S. C. W„ where

regular meeting of the Pine Grove
Woman's Club.
At the beginning of the meeting.
Miss Edd.ve Ross gave a demonstra
tion on canning soup mixture. Dur
ing the business session minutes of
last meeting were read and ap
proved. Premium lists of the New
ton County Fair were distributed by
Miss Ross. One dollar was voied to
be sent to the Council Treasurer to
defray expenses of representative to
the Farm and Home Week to be
held in Athens.

Tom Luck, candidate for Congress
from the Fourth Congressional District,
being from one of the largest cotton pro
ducing counties in the State, is naturally
in sympathy with the cotton producers,
and favors immediate relief that will in
sure adequate prices for their produce.
The grain farmer, and practically
all interests have been granted, or assured
relief except the cotton producer, the
only money crop of the Fourth Congres
sional District, and if elected, will use his
best efforts to obtain the relief so much
needed to the cotton producers of the
South.

Swimming Party on Saturday Among
Informal Activities of Younger Conti gent
Adding to the informal gaities of
the younger set was the swimming
party given Saturday afternoon at
Rainbow Lake, by Miss Joyce Pratt.
The hostess was assisted by her
mother. Mrs, P W. Pratt.
Thosp enjoying the occasion were
Doris Nash Mary Lucy Butler. Em-
she was one of the most popular
members of her class.
Mr. Travis is the only son of Dr.
and Mrs William Darracott Travis
of this city, and hi s sister is Mrs.
William White Aiken- of Lyons He
received his education in Covington
schools, at Darlington and Emory
University, where he was a popuiai
member of the S. A. E. Social Fra
ternity.
For the past two years Mr. Travis
has be»n connected with the Lyons
City Pharmacy.
Mr. Travis has ever been one of
Covington's most popular young
men. and legions of friends in this
section of the state are wishing for
the young couple much happiness.
Mr. and Mrs. Travis will make
home in Lyons.
Charlie Porter Circle of Porter dale
Methodist Church Holds Meeting
The Charlie Porter Circle of the
Porterdale Methodist Church held
their July meeting at the home of
Mrs. Alex Wheeler on last Tuesday
evening. July 11.
Mrs. C. B Drennan, president, of
the Society, was away on her vaca
tion and Mrs. Annie Lee Day, vice
president, presided.
Miss Whiting of Covington, led
the devotional exercises. Mrs. John
