Mr. J. A. Polk Celebrated Birthday
Anniversary With Dinner on Sundrn
The home of Mr- and Mis.
ry Anderson was the scene of a fam
ily reunion on Sunday, February
25th, honoring Mr. J- A Polk, fa
ther of Mrs Anderson.
Mr. Polk was 87 years old, Feb
ruary 241 h and all of his children
and a large number of grandchil
dren enj^.oyed a picnic dinner in
celebration of this event. The main
feature of the dinner being the cut
ting of the beautiful white two-tier
birthday cake, embossed in yellow
and green anl bearing 87 yellow
candles.
Mr Polk was born in Newton
County and has spent his
life he-e, and for his age is unus
ually active, and still
