platter of butter and Oh well!
But that’s not all . . . when it
;
came to dessert I want you to
know we had the thrill of a life
time . . . Huckleberry cake with
hard sauce . . . and fresh liuckle
berries at that . . . Did you ever
taste a huckleberry ^ cake’ ' Well ’ I [
you have something to look for
ward to. If Mrs. Meyer’s sister |
bakes it . . . now Mrs. Meyers is
the cutest little trick you ever saw
. . . just about as big as a minute
, . . but she sunningly flashed
those brown eyes up at me in
warning when I asked for the
recipe and said . . . “They look
like this when Mae bakes them,
but when I bake them the huckle
berries all sit on the bottom of
the pan.” But if you will hustle
up some huckleberries from some
where we will have one . . . and
if you want the recipe just drop
the Office Boy a note for it is the
best ever.
Now, I’ve saved one of the
things until last! I’m like Sonnie

didn’t then ... but Boy, oh Boy
... for the first time in my life
I went crabbin'! We tied a nice
size piece of beef on a long string
In the water and all you have to
do is hold the string . . . and then
before you know it . . . Geepers
Creepers! The goose bumps start
up your spine . . . you can feel
something on that line . . . “up ;
easy” they shout . . . easy, easy,
and holey smoke, we came near I

for they shelled one right out . . •
and said, “See, Sonny, look how
nice,” and I took it in my hand
and said, "Isn’t that lovely,’’ and
Oh my poor heart was aching for
