ust 16, at her home in Porterdale.

birthday cake which was decorat
ed with pink rosebuds and six
dainty candles. Refreshments car
ried out the color motif of pink
and white.

Holds August Meeting at Church
The Woman's Auxiliary of the
Presbyterian church met in the
Auxiliary room on Monday after
noon. August 19, with a
small attendance due to sickness
and vacations.

Septima Simmons Circle Meets at Home

The meeting was opened with

for the coming month. The circle
discussed plans for the District
assoeiational meeting which will
be held at the Covington Baptist
Church in September.
A most impressive and thought
ful program was presented on the
rededication of one’s life during
this period of chaos and unrest

The marriage of Miss Johnie
Fillyaw, daughter of Mrs. J. S.
Fillyaw, and Holland Tuck,
solemnized Thursday evening,
August 15th, at 9-30 at the First
Baptist Church. The impressive
ring ceremony was performed by
the Rev. Walker Combs in the
presence of the immediate famil
ies and intimate friends.
Prior to and during the cere
mony a program of nuptial music
was presented by Mrs. R. M. Tuck,
aunt of the groom and church or
