Steps Taken to

Stone -Mountain's world famous:
“unfinished” memorial may yet be
completed. At least, a step in that !
direction was taken last week
when the Georgia House of Repre

Authority for finishing the memo

of Ware, author of the bill, said
the authority would have the
power Jo issue self-liquidating
bonds and would require no ap

measure passed by a vote of 137 |

In the next twelve months
thousands of additional workers
will be required to carry on the
defense projects of the nation.
There will be a strong demand for
machinists, mechanics, carpenters
and other skilled labor as well as
corrfmon labor,
“Every worker entering a new
job should ap ^ ly imme di a t e ly for
a Social Security account number
card if he does riot already have
one,” declared Mr. Murphy, man
ager of the Social Security Board’s
office in Atlanta. Georgia. The age
of the worker does not matter. He
needs tfcis card even if he is un
der 20 years old or over 70.
Many young ladies may replace
men in stores, offices and factories.
Women in commerce and industry
must have a Social Security ac
count number card, just the same

where her employer is required to

j THE JUDGMENT DAY
! The Judgment day will be a:
great and terrible day for those j
| who do not have the Spirit of I
Jesus. “For if any man have not !
j the Spirit of Christ, he is none |
of his.” (Romans 8:9). But to those I
who are filled with the Spirit ot
Jesus and have walked in all the I
light shed upon their pathway, it j
will be a blessed day. He will say j
to them, “Come, ye blessed of my
Father, inherit the kingdom pre
pared for you from the foundation
of the world.” Mat. 25:34. To the
wicked who do not have the Spirit
of Christ, but only a form of god
liness, he will say. ‘‘Depart from
fire, prepared for the devil and
his angels.” Many of htose who
hear this awful denunciation will
be members of some church, men
who have paid their debts, have
his angels.” Many of those who
It will even include preachers who
do not have Christ crowned within
their hearts. All who do not have
the Spirit of Christ will be cursed
with an everlasting curse.
Praying' will be done on that t
day. Those who have never prayed
before will pray on that day. Their
prayer will not be for Jesus to
hav: mercy on them for the day of j
mercy will be passed. Rather they |
pray for the rocks and hills
to fall on them and hide them j
from the face of Him that sitteth |
on the Throne. (Rev. 6:15-17)
Those who have been faithful to :
prayer and have met. the conditions j
by walking in ali the light shed :
cm their way will not need to pray
after all hope of the wicked is
gone. They will be shouting the
victory and praising God. The
righteous will have boldness on
that day and when their names
are called to stand before the
great Judge- they will come forth j
with a shout of victory.
If any person is there in that j
great number at the Judgment I
Day that you have wronged in
any way, if you have not righted
the wrong with them, they will
face you and condemn you. If
there is anybody in the world that
could bring a wrong against you
on that Day, fix it up before it is
too late. After this life your day
of Grace will be over. Read what
Jesus says about that matter in
the Sermon on the Mount (Matt.
5:23-26).
The Judgment day will be one
of surprise. Some will be surprised
when they find their reward is
so much more than they expected,
The shut-ins who have not been
able to do much outwardly for the
Lord, but have loved Him and have
will prayed be day happy and night hear for Jesus the lost | J
to say,
“Come and sit at my right hand
for you have done what you
could.”
Another class who will be sur
prised is the ones who have work- j
j ed hard in their own strength but ) j
their names are not written in the
j Lamb’s Book of Life. They have j j
tried hard to make church mem
bers of unsaved friends and ac- I
quamtances. They haVe done their
best to entertain the young peo
ple and to keep them busy in get
ting up plays and banquets and
in raising money through all kinds
of schemes to run the church. They
have no place for the altar or for
the old-fashioned revival where
people pray through and hear from
Heaven. All their work will be
wood, hay, and stubble and will
! | not stand the test of a Firey
Judgment. Their works, to stand,
j should be gold and silver and
I precious stones. (1 Cor. 3:11-17.)
Such people will be looking' for a j
great reward on the Judgment Day j
but will be disappointed when the
Books are open and they find that
they do not have any souls to
their credit. Jesus will say to
them: “Depart from me for I know
you not from whence ye are. Then
shall ye begin to say, We have j
eaten and drunk in thy presence,
and thou hast taught in our streets.
I But he shall say, I tell you, I
know you not from whence you
are.” (Luke 13:24-28.)
We are told that there are two
things we can not escape. They!
are Death and Judgment. When ■
Jesus comes for His Bride, and
it seems that He might come soon,
the Bride of Christ, or those who
are sanctified wholly will "be
caught up in the clouds to meet
the Lord in the air: and so shall I
we ever be with the Lord. Where- |
fore comfort one another with j
these words.” (1 Thess. 4:16-18.)
The wholly sanctified ones will not
taste death when Jesus conies for
His bride. That is the first ressu
rection. “Blessed and holy is he
that hath par in the first ressurec
tion: on such the second death
hath no power, but they shall be
priests of God and of Christ, and
shall reign with him a thousand
years.” Rev. 20:6. It will be neees- I j
sary to be sanctified wholly to be
one of the honored guests at the j
Marriage Supper of the Lamb
while the great and terrible Tri- i
buiation is here on earth. If you j
j would be a guest there make haste j
:ind have everything fixed up.
Small child:—“Mummy, is it 12
o'clock yet?” Mummy:—“Not yet,
dear". Small child: H'm. guess
my stomach must be fast.”
