R. R. Fowler, Sr.
Mrs. S. L. Waites, president,
presided. She has been sick and
couldn’t be with us at the last two
meetings. It was nice to have her
with us again.
The opening song was “Faith of
Our Father’s” then Mrs. Wilie

D. Ramsay, Jr., gave her report,

the work accomplished in the local
society. She asked for the support

Mrs. Bruce presided over the
afternoon session, at which time
the remainder of the Young Peo
ple’s work was finished. Mrs. W.
T. Warren outlined the One Hun
dred Thousand Club work, and
stated that each person would
have to double the amount given
to reach the goal in 1945.
Mrs. R L. Huff, of Conyers
Baptist Church, gave an interesting
and most inspiring talk on “How
to register every woman in giving.”
Her talk was a challenge to every
member present.

a splendid talk which was a chal
lenge to every Baptist Woman.
She stressed the fact that every
woman who joins the Church, au
tomatically becomes a member of
the W. M. S. So few realize their
responsibility along this line. Cov

sence of the President, Mrs. W. D.
Travis, who was ill. Covington

izations out of 40 in the Associa
tion and stressed the need of
trained leaders. Mrs. Wright, of
Clarkston gave a most interesting
talk on the “P’s and Q’s for*
Young People’s Directors. She
stressed the fact that each leader
should be Deeply Spiritual, One
who loves Children; one who is
Missionary in Spirit, and one who
can inspire Young People to better
Christian living.
Mrs. W. T. Warren, State Vice

gave a beautiful devotional taken
from the 6th Chapter of Deut. 4-7.
Mrs. Bruce introduced the
Guest Speaker of the day, Miss
Lucy Wright, who has just return
ed from China as a Missionary
Miss Wright is a Christian worker
in one of the great Baptist Hospi
tals in China. She trains Christian
Nurses in the surgical Department.
Her talk was most inspiring, and
you will find a brief outline of
her talk elsewhere in this paper.
Be sure and read this. We are
placing it in a place all it’s own in,
the hope that others, besides this
group will read it. Her splendid
work is a challenge to us to do a
better Missionary work this year.

the Covington Parent-Teacher As

year had been “Pursuit of happi
ness through education”. She an
nounced the May topic will be “A
healthy child a happy child”, and
one of the local physicians will be
guest speaker. Mrs. Sealey express
ed her thanks to all officers and
members for their cooperation

in Macon, May 14, 15 and 16 and
