Mrs. L. A. Patrick, chai-man
of the committee for the after
noon, presented Gordon Johnson,
who has recently returned from
Germany. Mr. Johnson told
some of his experiences, but
spoke at length on post-war
plans.
Preceding the social hour,
Irish jokes were enjoyed De
licious ice cream and rakes,
featuring St. Patrick's day motif
were served by the following
committee: Mrs. L. A. Patrick,
Mrs. B. L. Johnson, Mrs. D. K
Hicks and Mrs. Eva Aycock.

The bride wore a suit of pow
der blue wool, a halo hat of
pink rosebuds with black ac
cessories. Her corsage was of
sweetheart roses.
Mrs. Castleberry, prior to her
marriage lived in Decatur, and
was employed by the Fulton Na
tional Bank of that city. Mr.
Castleberry is employed by the
U. S. Employment service.
Immediately following the
ceremony, Mrs. Auston Turner,
sister of the bride, entertained at
a reception at her home.
After a wedding trip to Flor
ida, Mr. Castleberry and his
bride will reside in Atlanta Ga

Mrs. Paul Yarbrough Entertained Tuesday
With Party For Members Os Bridge Club
Mrs. Paul Yarbrough enter
tained last Tuesday afternoon at
bridge, having as her guests the
members of her club. Iris. and
bridal wreath were used through
out the attractive apartment.
Mrs. Money Pratt won the high
score prize for the afternoon and
Mrs. Hoke Randall was awarded
the traveling prize.
Meeting Os Junior Woman's Club Held At
Library With M. C. Wiley As Guest Speaker
The Covington Junior Woman’s
Club met at the library Monday
afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. The
meeting was called to order by
the president, Mrs. L W. Mas
ten. This was followed by the
singing of “America”. T,he salute
to the flag was then given.
The roll was called and the
minutes of the last meeting were
read and approved. Reports from
the various officers were given.
Mrs. R. Pat Campbell, chairman
of the Ways and Means Com
mittee, gave a report on the bene
fit bridge which had been plan
ned by the club for the month
Children's Society Os Christian Service
Held Monthly Meeting Sunday Afternoon
The Children’s Society of
Christian Service met at the
First Methodist Church Sunday
afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. An in
teresting program was given, the
study being on “Africa.”
All children of the Methodist
Church from the ages of six
through 11 are urged to attend
these monihly meetings where

An iced drink, a salad and
sandwich plate was served at the

kindergarden, which is the pro
ject for the club and M. C. Wiley,
guest speaker for the afternoon,
discussed this proposed project
also.
A social hour followed the
meeting at which time, the
hostesses for the afternoon, Mrs.
Fleming Touchstone, Mrs. Paul
Yarbrough and Mrs. S. J. Harlin,
served iced drink, sandwiches,
and cookies.

Mrs. Edward Lee Sr. announces
the marriage of her daughter,
Eva Mae, to Robert Bernard
Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil
liam Oliver Miller, of Spring Hill,
Ala., February 23 in Lucedale.
Miss. Mrs. Miller is the daughter
of Mrs. Edward Lee King and
the late Mr. King of Covington.
The bride has been employed
for the past seven years by the
Metropolitan Life Insurance Com
pany in Raleigh as a registered
nurse doing public health work-
She is a graduate of the Georgia
Baptist School of Nursing in At
lanta.
Mr. Miller was recently dis
charged from the Army and is
employed by the Waterman Cor
poration in Mobile Ala.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller will make
their home In Mobile after
March 31.

Bridge Luncheon For Covington Friends
Mrs. Warren Stillwell enter
tained at her home in Macon
Saturday with a bridge luncheon
honoring a group of Covington
friends.
The home was lovely with ar
rangements of blue Iris and
yellow roses. Luncheon was serv
ed at card tables in the living
room, each table having as its
centerpiece a bowl of Camellias.

The Covington Book Club met
at the home of Mrs. W. W. Crowe
on Monday afternoon at 3:30 ;
o’clock with Mrs. Tandy Bush 1
as co-hostess-
Mrs. Molly Bolton, president of
the club presided. The minutes
of the last meeting were read and
approved and a short business
meeting was held. Mrs. Bush pre
sented the guest speaker for the
afternoon, Mrs. Thornton W.
Marie, of Atlanta, who spoke on
Mrs. Brooks Scurry And Mrs. Jack Scurry
Entertained At Bridge Luncheon Saturday
One of the loveliest parties of
the past week was given by Mrs.
Jack Scurry and Mrs. Brooks
Scurry Saturday when they en
tertained a group of friends at
luncheon at the Delaney Hotel.
Luncheon was served at the
hotel, the table having as its
centerpiece a bowl of lovely
spring tulips, and Camellias were
used as place cards-
Following luncheon, bridge
was enjoyed at the Porter home
which was attractive with ar
rangements of tulips, Iris and
Camellias. Miss Sara White Call
away was high in the game of
bridge and was awarded a pair
of nylon hose as her prize, Mrs.
Fleming Touchstone won the
low score prize, a deck of cards.

tion prize.
Those motoring over for this
delightful party were: Mrs. Guy

Southern Architecture. She gave
a most instructive as well as in
teresting talk, speaking on various
Covington homes as well as other
homes throughout the state of
Georgia.
At the conclusion of the pro
gram the guests were invited in
to the dining room, whyia Mrs.
Molly Bolton presided at the tea
table, which had as its center
piece a bowl of white Iris and
yellow roses.
