BITS OF SOUTHERN
SUNSHINE
By MAMIE OZBURN ODUM
J -
i THERE SHALL BE
There shall be songs when I am
tired and old
And age comes with love and i
pain.
There will come Spring’s rain
and sunshine
Bringing the flowers and birds
again.
There shall be flowers as I walk I
•nd dream
Along the meadow-path be- I
neath the bough.
Dreaming again of baby-hands
clinging
Even as I am dreaming now. I
There shall he songs that fill
the air-way,
Sweeter than mine none can
deny,
And others will come with love
and laughter
But none can know His great- -
ness more than I.
There shall be love with youth
appealing,
With loyalty and spirits high.
There shall be singing as the
years grow old
But none will love God’s
beauty more than I.

GOODNESS DEFINED
Have you tried to define the
word, goodness.
It is a beautiful thing,
No word is more beautiful in
the book
No cloud, flower or bird on
the wing.
Nothing can compare to its value
Riches, power, honor, all un- 1
derstood,
There’s no way to make a com
parison
To one who is just plain good. :
I Even tho’ there is no recognition,
The world could praise if it
would,
i He may never be rewarded for
his goodness,
But he’ll get his reward, if
he’s good.
