Mr Owens is survived by two

Decatur; one daughter, Mrs.
Thomas Chapman, of Covington,

Covington, and O. P Owens, of
Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. R. M. *
St John and Mrs. Mary Burnet
te. both of Atlanta; five grand- .
ehildren, and five great grand- !
children.

Last Rites For
Samuel P. Jones
Funeral services for Samuel P.
Jones, 71, of Covington, were held !
Friday, December 26, at 11 A. M., |
at the Red Oak Church, withi
the Rev. J. B Collier, assisted by '
the Rev. E. L. Crowe, officiating.
Interment was in the Red Oak
Cemetery.
Mr Jones, a native of New- :
ton County, spent his entire life
in the Stewart Community. He
was a member of the Red Oak
Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons,
R M. Jones, R. S. Jones, and Fred
J. Jones, all of Covington; three
(laughters, Mrs. ulian Miller, Mrs.
Alvir. Moore and Mrs. Albert S.
Chestnut, all of Covington, and
three sisters, Mrs. Bose Lunsford,
of Jackson: Mrs. Oscar Campbell,
of Mansfield, and Mrs. Emmett
Yancey, of Covington.

Carlos Carter
Funeral services for Canos L.
Carter, 73, of Washington, D. C.,
will be held today (Thursday) at
230 P M„ in the chapel of Har
wel'.’s Funeral Home, with the
E v. H. B. Landrum officiating.
Interment will be in the Walnut
Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Carter, a former resident
•nd businessman of Newborn, had
made his home in Washington for
the past few years. He is surviv-;
ed by one borther, John J. Carter,
of Newborn, and one sister, Mrs.
C D. Shellnutt, of Sandersville.
