I LIFE'S GIFTS
By MAMIE OZBOTN ODUM
There is a task for each along the year,
Some deed to do, some saddened heart to cheer;
A burden from a weaker heart to lift
And share each day some priceless, needful gift,
Make choice new friends so marvelous and dear;.
Remembering old friends from yesteryear.
Scatter good deeds like sunrays everywhere
That life might be more radiantly fair,
Tune heart to helpful, worthwhile, nobler things
And seek the right, no matter what life brings;
And all undaunted seek the guiding light
Attain new power from some dazzling height.
Accept life’s gifts in all humility
And build day-dreams into reality.
