Eighth Grade will be held Friday
night. May 29, at 7:45 p.m. The
program will be held at the
Junior High Gymnasium.

According to Mrs. Anne Mas
ten. General Chairman, commit
tee’s are completing plans for a
striking setting for the closing
schnbl exercises. The stage of
the gym will be decorated in the
manner of a colonial home, com
plete with shuttered windows,
gracious doorway, veranda, col
umns, and flowers. Steps will
lead from the porch, on which !
the speakers will sit. to an old
fashioned garden with beds nf
verbena, geranium, phlox, ferns,
and ivy. and rose covered trel
lisses. Pretty lawn furniture will
be placed in the garden, where
the 62 belles and beaus of the
class of 53 will sit.

Mrs. M. J. Morehouse, widow
of the late M. J. Morehouse, and
sister of Mrs. L. D. Bolton, died -
Wednesday afternoon. May 27.,
at Pineworth, near Macon.
Funeral services will be held
Friday, May 29. at 3 p. m.. from |
the residence (Burge Plantation) I
near Mansfield. The Rev. Mr.
Zinser. Episcopal Minister, will
officiate with burial in the
family lot at Oxford Cemetery.

by the former. The Last Will and

The life of Jesus Christ as he
lived here on this earth among
men challenges the best that is
within me to strive t^ follow His
example. As I read the Sermon
on the Mount found in Matt<hew,
Chapters 5, S, 7, how he taught
his disciples the way of life, not
as a scribe, but as one having
! authority I feel the truths burn
i ing into my hear* and see how
: far short I come even in the
i blessed attidudes, or commonly
‘ called Beautitudes. My God gives
Ime the desire to forget myself m
service for others as did His Son.
Jesus Christ.
God, to me is so precious that
