Fire Fighters
From far away sunny Cali
fornia comes word of the high
regard in which Georgia fire
departments are held out there.
Safety Fire Commissioner Zack
D. Cravey said today.
The commissioner quoted from
a letter from James C. Robert
son, research assistant of the
University of Southern Cali
fornia School of Public Admin
istration.
“Mr. Robertson declared his
respect for the Georgia fire de
partments was won during the :
war while serving as fire pro- i
tection officer in the Coast
Guard and stationed at Camp
Gordon.” Mr. Cravey stated. “He
wrote that he lived at the head
quarters station and answered
alarms with the Augusta depart
ment, learning first hand fire
fighting methods as practiced
in the state.’’
Robertson, Mr. Cravey ex- I
plained, had written him asking
to be placed on the mailing list
of the Georgia Fire Cracker,
official publication of the Geor
gia Safety Fire Commission.
Robertson had pointed out that
the University of Southern Cali
fornia is building a fire ser
vice library in connection with
its Fire Administration
