High School News
FIRST GRADE
Mrs. C. D. Ramsey Jr.
Most of the boys and girls
in our class went to the fair on
school day. The things we liked
best were the real live ponies
and the merry-go-round. We
learned a song about “The Mer
ry-go-round” also one about
“My Pony.”
A large group has finished our
readiness book “Here We Go.’”
We have a new work book to
go with “Skip Along.” We are
having fun with it!
We drew pictures of Jack-O
lanterns. We decided the seven
best ones were drawn by Joan
Tomlin, Loraine Chambers, Ran
dy Satterfield, Sandna Allen,
Barbara Morgan, Mac Gay and
Keith Graham. Mr. Hutchinson
came to see us and we showed
them to him and then we sang
three Halloween songs for him.
We will have a Halloween party
on October 29 in our room. On
October 30, we will have a Hallo
ween Carnival at the school.
For the first three weeks in
October we have only had two
absences. We are proud of this
record.
Mrs. Summer's Second Grade
Fred Harwell and Sally Hard
man were sick one day last week.
This was their first day absent
from class. We hope they won’t
be sick any more.
The chapel program given by
Mrs. Rorke’s fourth grade class
surely was good. We love to go
to chapel.
Mrs. Harry Dietz gave out the
summer reading certificates. 11
of our boys and girls received
the certificates. We were proud
to have that many and hope to
increase that number next sum
mer.
Several of our mothers came
by to see us last week. Free
man Batchelor’s mother came
by Friday and stayed to see a
Travel picture with us. It was
fun seeing all the ways that can
be used to see the world. We
liked the Two Horse Sleigh.
Mrs. Summer let us sing Jingle
Bells.
Halloween time is nearly here.

We have enjoyed these new

which we are reading.
Last week we read about Chris

We like to color very much.
We made pictures using leaves.
It was fun to see what things
