‘pledge will the members of Sar
dis Church made to our “Chris
tian World Mission.” The church
is the living body of Christ, do
ing his work in the world of
today, Matthew 28:18-20, teach
ing love, standing for truth,
preaching repentance, telling of
Christ's redeeming power in
serving and Realing people all
over the world. This is our Chris
tian world mission. The chall
enge was accepted and the pledge
generous in our church, believ
ing that with God all things are
possible.

preach for us. Each member of}

} church grounds at the noon hour. 5

| The members of Sardis Church |
| have felt for a long time the
| need of additional Sunday schooI:
lmoms, a nursery, recreational
| rooms, and other facilities. Thei
men of the church decided the{
time to start on such a project
is now. So they did, and we now
have a nice well of water ready
to be piped to the new blocks
building, swhich is to get under |
| way this week. |
| The Womens Auxiliary have |
| conducted various fund-raising |
| drives for the past two years |
for many projects of the church |
and let me say here “Thanks”i
'to the public for encouragement |
| and co-operation. The new pro- |
| Ject is this recreational building{
l and our fund-raising drive is |
| cotton picking. Starting last Sat- |
‘? urday morning for Mr. Alton |
| Mann, the Women of the Aux-|
| lliary and their children, with |
| some of the men helping picked |
!800 pounds of cotton.. This willi
| be continued thoughout the cot- |
| ton season. The Women of the |
| Auxiliary also sponsored a party |
| for which a S4OO order was ob- |
| tained, Funds derived from this |
‘3 party will also be applied to |
| the building fund, !
A large group from the church

| the Macedonia paris at Liberty
| church near Bowman, Ga., last

| has been confined to Newton

| day and that he was transferred
| to Emory today for X-Rays and
| treatment for kidney stones. We
| wish and pray for him a quick
| recovery,
