~ FIND YOUR “BLIND” SPOT
~ Most of us have been accused
\at one time or another of having |
a blind spot and it's true—at '
least technically, the Murinel
Company of Chicago says. To |
find yours, simply mark-a small i
dot on a piece of paper and an |
inch of two way, mark a cross. |
Now, move the paper slowly |
back and forth from your eye, |
You will find that at some point |
the cross will “disappear”—and
you will have found your blind |

Liquid Nitrogen
| By W. H. McKINNEY
‘i County Agent
1} Newton County is participat

|liquid nitrogen. J. T. Polk, Jr.
| has set aside three acres of win

tion.
| This program is in eoaperation
| with the Nitrogen Division of Al
lied Chemical and Dye Corpora
tion, who supplied the Extension
iSorvice with enough Feran liquid
| nitrogen to set up the demonstra
[tion. The material was spread
by the Fowler Fertilizer Com

i The demonstration in Newton
|County is located on the south
|side of Highway 12, approximate
}ly three miles west of Covington
-lon the dairy farm of Mr. Polk.
| One acre of thc demonstration
| will not receive top dressing this
‘Efa]l but will get 50 pounds of
[Nitrogen next spring. Another
|acre has receivea 50 pounds of
|nitrogen top dressing this fall
|and will receive 50 more pounds
|in the spring. The third acer
| has received all its nitrogen—loo
| pounds—this fall.
4 A large sign has been erected
lon the area calling attention to
|the demonstration. Smaller signs
| point out the treatment each
|acre received.
| Mr. Polk’s demonstration area
| was planted to oats using a pas
ture or sod seeding machine.
. The demonstration will be grazed
| with dairy cows, and interested
- | farmers are urged to visit the
| 'demonstration to see which acre
i does the best job of producing
i feed for the cows.
|| Mr. Polk's test is one of about
- +IOO throughout the state desig

- production. The demonstration
will also help farmers to become
. familiar with a new source of

' Tt is reported there are 48.
