TIPS ON COOKING CHEESE
Unless low heat is used in melt
ing cheese, it may be tough and
stringy, says Mrs. Betty Alexan
der, consumer education special
ist, Agricultural Extension Serv
ice. University of Georgia. Sharp
or aged cheese is best for cooking
because it melts easier and blends
i well with other ingredients.

Cotton Champ *
With a yield of 4.147 pounds of
seed cotton — more than three
bales per acre — Jimmy Tass
of Bartow county has won the
■ state 4-H Club cotton production
championship for 1956.
The 18-year-old son of Mr. and
Mrs. Dave Tass, Rt. 1, Taylors
ville, Jimmy will receive a SSOO
। college scholarship from the At

expense-paid trip to the 1957
meeting of the American Insti- :

I Frank Jones, from nearby Gor

Earlier, Jimmy and Frank had

in Georgia.

of Empire seed, second year from

boy fertilized with 600 pound*
of 4 12-12, plus 100 pounds of
20 percent nitrogen.
Because he used a rotary hoe
Jimmy had to use the hand hoe
very little to keep his crop clean
of grass and weeds. He plowed
his cotton six times — always
