Sardis reports a good dfiy of
worship Sunday with Rev. Wil
liam Taylor, a guest minister
from Columbia Seminary, De
catur, bringing the morning and
evening message in the absence
of our regular pastor, Rev. Rid
ley Smith. Even though we en
joyed this man and his fine fam
ily so very much, Mr. Smith’s
absence was keenly felt. We also
missed Mrs. Smith, Dona, Dean
i ne, and Stevie. We shall look
iorward to having them back

The dinner guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Williams Sunday were
Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Meyers of

Jean Atha, little daughter of
Rev. and Mrs. William Atha, are
glad to welcome her back home
much improved, after having
spent several months in a Den
ver, Colorado hospital. Many
prayers and well wishes have
been made for this little girl.
Mrs. Thomas Henderson, who
is teacher for the juniors at Sar
dis Sunday School, entertained
her class with a trip to see the
Ice Follies in Atlanta Saturday
afternoon.
Mrs. C. B. Henderson and Mrs.
Albert Strickland visited Mr. and
Mrs. M. S. Wiley near Jersey
Sunday afternoon. Mr. Wiley has
been in ill health for a long
time. We wish for him much com
fort and cheer during his shut
in days.
Our hearts go out in deepest
sympathy to Mrs. Lizzie Polk who
continues quite ill at the home of
Mrs. Owen Stewart, her daugh
ter. “Mama Lizzie” as she is
known to all the community dis
plays a spirit of cheerfulness
each time you drop in to see
। her, despite her afflictions.
Mrs. J. B. Henderson and child
ren, Mrs. Albert Strickland and
Billy and Mrs. Dean Dial and
children had a pleasant week
end in Eustis, Florida, where
their husbands have been em
ployed for the past several weeks.
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Danny
Fuller regret to learn of their
moving to Florida, v.here Mr.
Fuller is now employed. We wish
for them much happiness and
success there.
