GIRL SCOUT
TROOP 12
Thursday, March 12, Troop
12 and the other troops had a
party. Betty Benton, who is in
our Troop, had the devotional.
Then our color guards and bear
ers had the flag ceremony.
We all paid our regular dues
which went to the Juliette Low
Association. We also brought
gifts for the kitchen in our
Scout Hut.
After our devotional and flag
ceremony we had a fashion
show. It was put on by the
scout troop who are now in the
seventh grade. It was very good.
Later we all had refresh
ments. We had jumbo pies,
potato sticks and Cokes. We
then got our coats and went
home.

County Hospital where she had
surgery on Tuesday, March 10.
She is being wished an early
recovery.

ment at the death of their
grandmother last week.

Wayne Bailey who is training
at Fort Jackson. South Caro

his friends in Porterdale. He was
accompanied to the camp by his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leßoy
Bailey, and Mr. and Mrs. La
nier Bailey and family, on
March 8.
Mr. Howard Williams’ fath
er, Mr. C. L. Williams, of
Athens. Georgia was injured in
an accident on Friday, March
13. but is being wished an ear
ly recovery by his friends in the
community.

Aidmore Hospital on Sunday
for observation and treatment.

est cotton acreage was in 1915
when 5.219,000 acres were
grown. The largest production
was in 1911 when 2,769,000
bales were harvested. The larg
est cotton acreage in the U. S.
was 44,386.000 acres in 1925,
Branyon said.
