The Myrtle Combs Circle of the
First Baptist Church met Feb. 17
at the church with Mrs. J. S.
Harris as hostess.
The meeting was opened with
the members repeating the watch
word, followed by prayer by Mrs.
J. A. Walls.
Reports from committee chair
men were given with Mrs. John
Bush praying for missionaries.
Mrs. J. A. Walls brought the

prayer by Mrs. Walls.

Guest Assembly of the Geor
gia State College for Women
last weekend by Miss Sandra
C. Harwell, and Miss Vickie C.
Whisnante of Mansfield, and
Miss Karen Stone of Coving
ton.
High School girls were in
vited to the woman’s college
campus so that they might get
a brief introduction to college
life. Special classes were held
on Saturday so that the visi
tors might visit classes of their
choice.
Cadets at the Georgia Mili
tary College joined in the wel
come by executing a battalion
review honoring the high
school girls. The girls also vis
ited the college library, the
Mamie Padgett Art Gallery and
the Old Governor’s Mansion.
They were entertained by crea
tive dancer Jean Erdman, saw
a fashion show, a dramatic
production by College Theater,
and attended a concert by the
GSCW A Cappella Choir.

Wednesday from Emory Uni
versity Hospital where she has
been a patient for several
weeks, following major surgery.
Although not permitted to have
visitors at the present time,
Mrs. Elliott is reported to be
making satisfactory progress;
and hosts of friends are wish
ing her a rapid and pleasant
convalescence.

a 1953 graduate of Andrew
Jackson High School in Jack
sonville, Fla., and a 1958 gra
duate of John B. Stetson Uni
versity in DeLand, Fla. He is
a member of Sigma Nu frater
nity.
His wife, Janice, is with
him in Germany.

day, February 22, the Scouts of
Troop No 207 had their meet
ing. After the opening, the roll
was calleo and dues were tak
en up. Then, the troop was

the meeting was closed with
the benediction.
