normal, as of this Tuesday morn
ing, except for telephone service.
Salem’s visitors, Mr. and Mrs.
G. W. Ramsey Jr., from Milwau
kee, Wis., were happy to be leav
ing all this Georgia weather be
hind them Sunday as they flew
back to Milwaukee, with the
statement that they preferred the
cold of Wisconsin to this unpredict
able weather we have here. The
only thing we can say is, who
knows that we won't have another
in a week or a year? Next time, i
let s be in an improved state of
readiness — It s foolish to assume
there won’t be a next time.
With telephone service still out
in most sections of Salem, it has
been hard for me in my snooping
to find many people who were
brave enough to do much visiting
Attendance at church was off
Sunday, but in my observations
I learned that Mrs. Hattie Dial
of Porterdale spent last week with
the Manson Miller family and
joined the L. W. Millers, the
Benny Millers, all of McDonough.

W. C. Bates Jr. was down from
Lithonia last Tuesday for a short
visit with his parents, the W. C.
Bates Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Kemp and
daughter Kathleen of LaGrange
spent the weekend with the
Aaron Kemp family.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Bates were
the guests Saturday night of Mr.
and Mrs. Douglas Yancey.

went to Decatur Sunday after
noon and visited Mr. and Mrs
Joe Jackson.
The Ramsey clan all gathered
at the home of Mr. and Mrs
Aaron Kemp last Thursday night
for their last visit with George
Jr and Jackie before their return
to Milwaukee.
