A Little About Pizza
Pizza, pronounced Petes za, sometimes referred to as a
Pizza or la Pizza, is of Italian origin, generally credited to
the city of Naples. As originally created Pizza, was strictly a
cheese and tomato pie.
La Pizza is a balanced blend of especially prepared bread
dough, blended tomato sauce and special cheese. In addition
it is often garnished to taste with either one or more of the
following: Italian mushrooms, anchovies, pepperoni (dried
highly spiced pork sausage), Hamburger, browned onions, or
what your imagination and taste may desire. Most Pizza
places specialize and limit the number of items used to gar
nish the Pizza. See our menu for our specialty.
Pizza dough is a yeast, flour and water dough carefully
prepared and controlled for proper yeast action. At proper
time, yeast action is stopped by cooking or refrigeration.

Pizza sauce is made of peeled, selected, field ripened
tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, oregano (o-ray'-gano) salt, sweet
basil, sage, thyme, and a bit of fennel, all blended in proper
proportion and in proper order -- then cooked and concentrat
ed for 4 hours, to just right consistency and taste.
Prior to cooking the Pizza, additional spices may be added
to bring out special flavor to suit taste. Usually these are
oregano, crushed red pepper, black pepper, white pepper,
salt, garlic salt, or as desired.
There are 4 types of cheese generally used to produce a
quality Pizza Pie. For sharpness, the grated and blended ro
mano and parmesano cheese; for mellow flavor sliced pro
volone (pronounced pro-vo-lon'-e); for the typical stringiness
of a quality Pizza and to help blend all ingredients sliced
mozarella (prounced moots-za-rell-a) is added last.
Pizza is a mighty fine dish for a meal or snack. Enjoy
our Pizza and come back for more soon!
