Neighbor I
M. S. M.
“If from cherished childhood
scenes
Fate and fortune have brought
you here,
And your heart still homeward
leans;
Remember—New friends with
time grow dear.
Your joys, your sorrows are of
ours a part,
So. help us to know you that
we may share
This experience of Life, with
open heart;
Welcome Neighbor! We’re glad
you are here.”
Editor's Note: If you know or have
a New Neighbor whom you would like
to have presented In the "Welcome
Neighbor" column, please call Mr»
Leo Mallard. Phono 2519.
In a year like this, when Old
Man Winter is behaving like
the “Man Who Came to Din
ner”, it is the supreme com
pliment to our newcomers to
say that they are “welcome as
the flowers in May”! But,
knowing Newton County, and
loving it as we do, we know
we are expressing the senti
ments of our neighbors in say
ing just that.
So, with the warmth of our
hearts about the only thing
left unfrozen in this garden
spot, we are extending that
warmth in a welcome, this
week, to Mr. and Mrs. W. B.
Bennett, who have come to us
from Atlanta to make their
home at 404 Floyd Street. Mr.
Bennett, an Atlanta native, is
manager of Wyatt Memorial
Company; and names fishing
jas his favorite hobby. Mrs.
Bennett, who also claims At
lanta as her hometown, shares
her husband’s enthusiasm for
fishing; and adds homemaking
and flower gardening as hob
bies.
The Bennetts have three chil
dren, Mrs. H. J. Lowry, Mrs.
Jack Taylor and Robert Wil
liam Bennett, all of whom live
in Atlanta; and, they are wel
come additions to the Baptist
Congregation.
