Makes Final Plans For Chicken Stew

Morning Division, on Tuesday,
November 15, at ten o’clock.
The meeting was ooei.ed with
the hymn “Near The Cross” ac
comnanied by Mrs. James Mit

Lord’s Prayer.
The Rev. Hollis Lunsford
was introduced as the guest
devotional leader who spoke
of “Forgiveness’, basing h i s
message on the eighteenth
chanter of Luke.
During the business session,
minutes were read and ap
proved. The roll was called by
Mrs. Frances Cason, Secretary.
Miss Mae Hardman reported
proceeds from the Beauty Re
vue up to date and reminded
Indies to meet at the gymna
sium kitchen on Friday at one
o’clock if they were designated
to assist with the Chicken Stew
Project. This stew will be de
livered on Saturday morning,
and all members were asked to
bring quart jars for their per
sonal stew.

Christmas symbolic of the joy
within the home to make the
town more beautiful at Christ
mas time.
Instead of having the per
i sonal exchange of gifts for a
Christmas Party, ladies voted to
bring gifts valued at not less
than one dollar for a patient at
the State Hospital in Milledge
ville, Georgia. They are to be
gift wrapped and designated
for “M an,” “woman”, or
“child”.

recipient of t h e attendance
award.

Willie Jeffries were named to
prepare the program for the
December meeting. Named to

The meeting was opened
with the Lord's Prayer with
19 members present.
The president, Miss Jimmie
Lou Giiham, presided over the
business meeting.
Mrs. C. H. Pennington was in
charge of the program. The
program was on the mission
study book “One World, One
Mission”. Mrs. E. G. Lassiter
had the devotional. Mrs. Pen
nington then gave the intro
ductory of the book. Mrs. W.
C. Johnson and Mrs. Corley
Coody gave talks cm the book.

of Mrs. Laura Dodson with Mrs.

creed, the salute to the flags

make Christmas plans for a
needy family.

united in marriage at the First
Methodist Church in Coving
ton, at an eight O’clock ser
vice Friday evening, Novem
ber 11.
The simple but impressive
double ring ceremony, per
formed in the presence of the
immediate families and a few
close friends, was performed
by the pastor of the church.

A reception was held im
mediately following the service
at the home of the bride’s
grandmother, Mrs. A. M But
ler. Arrangements of white and
pink gladiolus were used
throughout the home. The
bride’s table was overlaid with
a Maderia cloth and centered
with a beautifully decorated

map of the different countries,
which made the program more
interesting. Mrs. Nathan John
son led in prayer.
The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and ap
proved. The treasurers report
was given with $22.99 on hand.
Communications were read
and reports by various offi
cers and chairman were given.
The society voted to sell
Christmas wrapp in gs with
funds to go to the Carpet Fund.
A committee was appointed
to make baskets for the shutin
members of the church.
The meeting was dismissed
by Miss Giiham.
During the social hour Mrs.
Ernest Savage and Mrs. Spen
cer Wicks served delicious cake
and punch.

will arrive home Monday, No

entertain at the home of Mrs.
Harper with a coffee. The
groom - elect will arrive Wed
nesday, and the young couole
will share honors at a Buffet
Dinner given by Sam Ramsey
at his home on Floyd St. The

wedding narty and out of
town guests.
Following the rehearsal. Mr.
and Mrs. J. R. Brewster, par
ents of the groom, will be hosts
at the rehearsal supner in the
church parlors. Friday morn
ing, Mrs. S. J. Morcock and
Mrs. Don aid Steohenson will
give the bridesmaids breakfast
at Mrs. Morcock’s home on
Conyers St. Fridav at noon the
bridesmaids luncheon will oe
given at the home of Mrs. S. L.
Hardman on Convers St., with
Mrs. A. H. David and Mrs.
Hardman as hostesses. On Fri

and Mrs. Moody Summers Jr.
will entertain with an infor
mal supper at Mrs. Summers

was named “Woman of the
Year in Professions" in 1956.

of Mittie Bullock”, mother of
Theodore Roosevelt, named the
outstanding mother of Geor

। amusing anecdotes of the large
' family, and especially of Mit
! tie Bullock, who left a won
derful legacy — four splendid
Americans.

Mrs. Stone Cooper was a
gracious hostess on Wednes
day, when she entertained
members of her club in the
afternoon, and a group of
friends in the evening, at des
sert-bridge.
Burgundy and white doby
chrysanthemums were effec
tively arranged with aspidistra
leaves in a stemmed crystal
stand, to lend floral interest in
the living room. The decor of
the den was reflected in an ar
rangement of yellow chrysan
themums; and the dining table
centerpiece of yellow fujji
cthrysanthemums with crimson
pyracantha berries charmingly
complimented the autumnal
color theme.
