SUNSHINE
By Mrs. Mamie Ozburn Odum
I WISH
I wish that I could have been
there
To hear The Angels sing.
To see the bright Star in the
East,
Heralding The new born King.
I wish the star had been my i
guide
On this bright Christmas night,
And I had heard the Angels
song;
The anthem of delight.
I wish that I could have been
there
To touch Mother-Mary’s hand,
And see her face of Mother
love,
I think I’d understand,
The Mother-love that filled her
heart
There in that humble stall,
As wise men came with gold
and myrrh
For The savior of us all.
I wish that I could have been
there
In Bethlehem of Judea,
To see The wise men for afar
Who worshipped without fear.
' I know my heart would have
filled
With love their message
taught,
“For unto you this day is born”
Were tidings the Angels
brought,
“Os Glory to God in the
highest,"
Oh, to have been there then,
And hear the hallelujah
song
"On Earth, Peace, Goodwill
toward men.
