Rogers Home Is Scene Os Festive
Christmas Party For Club Members
The home of the E. B. Ro
gers on Monticello Street was
the scene on Friday afternoon
of one of the festive parties
with which the season’s social
calendar is sparkling, when
Mrs. Rogers entertained mem
bers of her bridge club at their
annual Christmas party.
Attractive dried arrange
ments lent a decorative note in
the reception hall. Red berried,
Christmas wreaths in the living
room windows accentuated the
seasonal theme. A small silver
Christmas Tree, glistening with
glitter balls, and banked at the
base with colorfully wrapped
gifts, composed the dining ta
ble’s centerpiece.
At the conclusion of t h e
games in which Miss Eva Ste
phenson won high score, and
Miss Annie Pauline Anderson
was consolation prize recipient,
the exchange and opening of
Christmas gifts contributed to
the merriment of the occasion.
Included in the guest list were

Dear Mr. Dennis:
Please permit me to extend
to you sincere appreciation for
the cooperation and support
you have given the State De
partment of Veterans Service
during the year now ending.
The function of our Depart
ment—as set by law—is to pro
vide veterans, their families,
and their survivors with in
formation about veterans pro
grams and benefits.
There is no better way that
we can inform veterans than
through the newspapers of our
State. We are most grateful for
the generous amount of space
which you have accorded our
news releases.
We know that your help also
is appreciated by veterans and
their families, for they have
told us so. Every day we re
ceive calls and letters from
veterans asking about a story
they read in the newspaper.
The entire personnel of our
Department joins me in ex
pressing to you best wishes for
a Merry Christmas and a Hap
py New Year.
Kindest personal regards.
Sincerely,
Pete Wheeler
