Lanier Hardmans Buffet Supper Hosts
To McDonald-Hathcock Wedding Party
Climaxing pre-nupt ial
events, for which the McDon- ]
ald-Hathcock wedding was the
inspiration, was the buffet sup
per given preceding the wed
ding, by Mr. and Mrs. Lanier
Hardman, which feted Miss
Pam McDonald, her fiance,
Phillip Hathcock and wedding
party members.
A mus ?al theme was clever
!ly interwoven with seasonal
decorations to highlight the oc
casion’s motif, from the front
door’s balsam wreath, which
held a gold trumpet and gold
musical notes, and was tied
with gold and red ribbons,
throughout the rooms thrown
ensemble for entertaining.
On the foyer chest a bugle
with base arrangement of mag
nolia foliage and scarlet poin
settias was balanced by two
intriguing, German gnomes. A
red velvet laticced kissing ball
in the living room doorway,
held sprays of balsam and mis
tletoe.
Focal point of the living room
was the piano composition of
twin gold and alabasta com
potes holding green sequined
candles, thrown into relief by
a red velvet background, cen
tered with an espaliered green
Christina* tree with gilded
Della Robia fruit, in a gold
pot. A balaalm garland which
delineated triple windows and
the velvet background, held
I terminal streamers of red and
: green velvet, centered with
■ gold grape clusters. The mantle
1 held an elongated arrangement
of burfordi holly and nandina
berries, with small gilded trum
pets to accentuate the musical
theme. Red tapers burned in
flanking sconces.
Gold braid trimmed the gray
linen cloth w’hch overlaid the
. dining table, where gilded
wicker wedding bells, tied with
1 a large red satin bow, held
red carnations and holly, were
flanked by four branched brass
candelabra holding silver can-
I dies. Corner sprays of red car
nations in gold bows were also
used to advantage. A boxwood
Christmas tree, glistening with
red and green glitter, was held
in a gold compote to form the
serving table composition;
; while twin gold goblet arrange
i ments of gilded pineapples
I holding and surrounded by
I gold glitter balls, were used on
the side board, and centered
