First Grade
Our attendance in first grade
Yas been good during the first
two weeks of the new year.
We hope the measles do not
make us break our record. We
are sorry Phil Harvey has
them. Kathy Lummus has also i
been out several days.
Everyone enjoyed bringing a 1
toy to show on “Toy Day”. We
had dolls, guns, cars, games
and books. The story books
which the boys and girls re
ceived for Christmas were en
joyed by everyone. The boys
and girls are also enjoying in
* dependent reading too.

Third Grade
By Rosemary Robertson
We were happy to get back to
achool after our Christmas va
cation, and have had lots of
fun sharing our toys and hear
ing about our holiday activi
ties.
Terry Day spent most of his
vacation in the hospital but is
back at school now. Charles '
Gunn is still absent. An in- I
jured leg has kept him out of j
school since Christmas.
We enjoyed a science film and
record Wednesday. Mr. Paden
has shown us two films that we
have enjoyed also.
Our new workbooks are here
•nd we are eager to begin us- I
’.ng them. We are working
hard in all subjects and look
ing forward to a very happy
year.
Second Grade
We are trying to remember '
that every sentence begins'
with a capital letter and that
the days of the week, months
of the year, names of people,
pets, and names of places and
always the word I are written
with a capital letter.
We are learning to indent
and to use periods and question
marks. Here are some stories
that we have written.
When I Grow Up

I want to be a lion tamer.
I think it will be lots of fun to

why I think I would like to
be a lion tamer.
When I Grow Up
By Daryl Allen
I want to be a truck driver
when I grow up. I want to haul
lumber to people to build
houses.
When I Grow Up
By Lanny Tucker
When I grow up I would
like to train animals because
I love wild animals.

When I Grow Up
By Henry Cofer
When I grow up I am going
■ to be a doctor. Doctors make

always be good and friendly.
