longer visit.

the Crawford Long Hospital
and is recovering at her home
following observation and
treatment.
Mr. Bige Dodd entered the
St. Josephls Infirmary on Fri-
day, January 27, for extensive
treatment.
The Rev. and Mrs. Charles
Shaw and family of Ellijay,
Georgia were guests of their
mother, Mrs. Eula Baird, on
Friday of last week.
Mrs. Oliver Day is a patient
at the Emory University Hos
pital where she was hospitaliz
ed on Friday, January 27.
Friends wish for her an early
recovery, and an immediate
return home.

Fact Book
Is Published
A new Labor Department
booklet summarizes key facts, j'
figures, and studies on t h e
older worker.
Entitled “Meet the Over-40
Worker,” the booklet empha
sizes that rigid upper age limi- ,
tations in hiring can severely ,
impede the effective use of mil
lions of trained, experienced
workers.
It discusses the job perfor
mance of the older worker, his
productivity, ability to meet
physical requirements, skills

and flexibility, and work at
tendance, health, and safety. It
also comments on the economics
of hiring as affected by pen
sions and other employee bene
fits.
The Labor Department has
also published an action guide
book for community leaders,
“Ability is Ageless,” showing
ways to help alleviate and re
move the age barriers to em
