Hi! Hope everyone is well and
happy this morning. The sick list
in Salem is not too long this
week. Wayne Doster continues ill
at Emory Hospital and Mrs. L. N.
Webb continues ill at Newton Hos
pital. Little Janice Aylor is recov
ering from her first operation, a
tonsillectomy, and her mother.
Mrs. A. J. Aylor, reports that she
is enjoying all the attention she is
receiving from her friends. W e
all join to wish each one a speedy
recovery.
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. L. M.
Taunton of Macon, former Newton i
residents, will regret to learn that
she is a patient at Macon Hospital
where she has had major surgery
for a spinal condition. Mr. and ।
Mrs. Douglas Yancey went down I
to Macon on Sunday. February 5 ;
to visit the Tauntons before the i
scheduled surgery. ,
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Bates spent ’
last Friday in Atlanta visiting <
several of their relatives. Among
those they visited was Mrs. B. F.
McCollough, their mother. Mrs. !

Palmer-Stone Sunday afternoon,

Texas, this week at the REA Con
vention. Mrs. Savage is visiting
Lcdr. and Mrs. Clarence Robey in
Atlanta during Mr. Savage's ab
sence in Texas.

In our sympathy corner this
week we find the family of t h e
late Lewis Alm and of Covington
The Almand family has played an
important part in the history of
Salem and it was with deep re
gret that we learned of his pass
ing. His burial was in the Salem
Church Cemetery Saturday after
noon. His boyhood was spent
here in Salem and the family
friends gathered at the cemetery
to pay their final respect to o n e
they had known and loved so long.
To the entire Almand family we
all join in expressing sincere lym
pathy to them.
