THE SAME TAX that is charged on a mink stole is
charged for your telephone service. This 10% Federal
Excise Tax is paid fully by you to the Federal Govern
ment. We feel that this tax, imposed as an emergency
measure during World War 11, should be removed.
Congress has often considered abolishing the tax, and
there has been much support for getting rid of it. The
telephone is only household utility service to be taxed.
To select one such service for taxation is unfair and
discriminatory and unjustly penalizes the users of that
utility. The tax should be repealed.

WHATS COOKIN’? ... For Mom, 1,092 meals a year.
And maybe 55,000 meals in a lifetime! For the woman
who has to prepare those meals, convenience means a
lot! Here’s a suggestion for a kitchen help that’ll save a
lot al time and steps, give pleasure, too. Why not get a
kitchen extension phone —a wall phone that s out of the
way of all doin ’ and but alwa y® at hand when
it rings, or when you need to make a call. Just call us to
order your kitchen extension in your favorite color.
SPEAKING OF EXTENSIONS, here s another way you
w j get one—just ask any Installer-Repairman you happen
to tee in the neighborhood. He’ll be happy to install handy
extension phones wherever you need them.
