Head-Batchelor Wedding Ceremony
Held At Calvary Church Saturday
Miss Naney Louise Head,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Charlie Head, and A/IC Ben
nie Batchelor Jr., son of Mr.
end Mrs. Bennie Batchelor Sr.
of Monticello, were united in
holy matrimony at Calvary
Baptist Church on Saturday
afternoon, July 9, 1961. The
Rev. Roy Head, brother of the
bride, officiated at the double
ring ceremony which was per
formed in the presence of the
immediate families and close
friends.
Miss Gail Fincher, organist,!
rendered appropriate wedding'
music and accompanied Miss'
Linda Cargile, soloist, who
sang, “O Perfect Love”, a n d i
“Master Let Me Walk With
Thee”.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, chose a white
floor length wedding gown
featuring a tight fitting bodice
and long lace sleeves forming
a lily point over the wrists. The
full lace skirt was fashioned
ever satin. Her veil of tulle

A reception was held in the
church annex immediately af
ter the ceremony. Miss Dot
Batchelor, sister of the groom,
wearing a lovely pink lace
dress with hat and gloves to
match, kept the bride’s book at
the entrance to the beautiful
ly decorated room.
The bride’s table, overlaid in
white, was centered with the
beautifully decorated wedding
cake which was served by Miss
Mable Batchelor, sister of the
groom, who had baked and de
corated the cake.
Miss Hazel Henderson, wear
ing mint green chiffon and Mrs.
Dwight Eaton, wearing beige
with matching accessories,
served punch, nuts, individual
decorated cakes and mints.
Completing the table decora
tions were net and satin bows
caught up at the corners to;
match the bride’s table.

Church met Monday, June 3, in
the Educational Building. The
meeting opened with the group i

be sent to each of these.
Mrs. Doyle Smith gave an
interesting program on “God’s
Words and Our Words”, with
scripture from John 1:1-17.
The meeting closed with the
song, “Tell Me the Story of
Jesus”, and prayer.
The hostesses, Mrs. Correnne
Davis and Mrs. Doyle Smith
served delicious cake and
punch.
