Admissions to Milledgeville
State Hospital reached a re
cord high in the month of June,
1961 with 451 new patients en
tering the institution. This was
a 25 per cent increase over
June of 1960. In addition, there
were 250 returns from fqr
lough, making the total gains
for the month 701.
Total losses, including direct
discharges, furloughs and
deaths, amounted to 684 mak
ing a net gain of 17 patients for
the month. The losses were
broken down as follows: Dis
charges, 127; furloughs, 462;
Deaths, 95.
Percentage of admissions un
der the various types of com
mitments show 50.5 per cent
under the 1960 law; 33.7 per
cent under the regular com
mitment; 12.2 per cent, volun
tary; 1.3 per cent, court orders;
