11, 1961, at the American Le
gion Home,
Mrs. Luke Hill, president,
presided and the colors were
advanced by the Sgt. at Arms,
Mrs. C. N, Crawford and Mrs.
A. R. Hooten. The pledge to
the flag and Preamble were
repeated in unison.
Mrs, Jack Chapman, music
chairman, gave an interesting
talk on music and how it
touches our lives in every
thing we do. Group singing
was led by Mrs. John Chesnut
and Mrs. Ty Cason.
Mrs. Lewis White, member
ship chairman, announced the
membership drive was under
way and urged all members to
assist in reaching quota by

Sept. Meeting at Home Mrs. Meadows
The September meeting of
Circle Two, Women of the
Presbyterian Church, met at
the home of Mrs. Posey Mead
ows. The meeting was opened
with prayer by the chairman,
Mrs. D. G. Stephenson. Eleven
members answered roll -call
and the minutes of the August
meeting were read and ap
proved, .
Mrs. Stephenson announced
that the Loyalty meeting of
the WOC will be held Septem
ber 19, at the church. At this

gatherings, on Tuesday. when
Mrs. Callaway was the gracious
hostess to members of her club,
and other guests, at a dessert
bridge.

The Salem Home Demonstra
tion Club heid its monthly
meeting at the Club House on
September 14. Eight members
with three visitors, Mrs. White,
Mrs. Hargrove and Mrs. Mec-
Giboney, were present.
The meeting was called to
order by Mrs. Douglas Yancey
and the Club Creed was read in
unison. Mrs. Yancey also read
several poems.
