Local-County-Mate
By the Office Boy
Hi-Ho! Come to the Fair!
Turn the key on troubles and
care, re-kindle the job of won
der, symbolic of childhood,
along with that forgotten ap
petite for cotton candy, candy
apples, hot dogs and hamburg
ers with all the trimmings, and
get in the mood of the carni
val spirit! For years now we
have stood circumspectly by,
with no excuse to ride the
“Merry-go-round”; but, just
give us time—that little grand
daughter, Debbie, is doing her
best to hasten the day when
we can “take her on the rides”.
And it will be our secret, who
takes whom!
Seriously, the Legion is stag
ing an outstanding Newton
County Fair at Legion Field,
and we join our fellow citizens
in expressing our appreciation
to them. Nothing so solidifies
community spirit as does this
type community project, in
which every section of the
county, and every facet of its
development are exhibited as
an index of its progress.
Believe it or not, we have a
double treat in store for us on
Friday evening, for our New
ton County Rams meet Cham
blee on our local gridiron!
AND, everyone attending the
game, will be given a ticke f
stub, which will serve as a
pass to the Fair after the
game! That takes on the ring
of, “doubling your pleasure”,
to us, and we are all for it!
First Baptist Church Sunday

Dept., Georgia Baptist Conven

more enthusiastic speaker: or
one more completely sold on
the potential of the Sunday
