Our class has been working
hard this six weeks. We are
doing cursive writing now and
like it very much.
In our science class we have
been studying the "Basic
Four” types of food that we
need for our bodies each day.
We are all going to try to eat
more of the things we really
need to be healthy’.
We have learned to spell
many Halloween words and in
our English class we have been
writing stories and rhymes
about Halloween. We would
like to share some of them with
you.

My aunt and uncle had a
witch, I had my piciure mack
with it My little brother was
scared of it. He wouldn’t have
his picture made with it.

My third Halloween night 1
went for a walk, and as I did
I saw a cat. It was b’ ck with
spooky eyes and funny ea:s
and a pink funny nose. After
that I saw some hand that were
reaching for me. I cried for
mama and then I ran home.

kin named Pogo. He was very
sad. All the ether pumpkins

very small. One day a farmei
came and picked all the big
fat pumpkins and left Pog >
alone. He was very unhappy.
A man came and picked Pogo
and took him home to his little
crippled boy. The little boy
was happy and Pogo was a
happy jach-o-lantems.

Fiftb Grade
Friday night, October 27,
we had our fait festival.
Some of the people went in the
daytime. Some of us went at
night. We had lots of things to
do. We had balls in the can,
country store, fish pond, cake
walk and many other things.
BiHy Shephc.d won the tur
key. Putty George won a cho
colate cake. Wayne Bankston
won a football.
The money we made will buy
things for our school. Thanks
to all the people for coming.
Tuesday, October 31, Is
Halloween. Many of the

churches are getting groups to
gether. These groups will trick
or treat for money. This money
will buy food and clothing for
children overseas. So when
these trick or ■ treaters come,
donate as much as possible.
