News Notes From
Salem
By Mrs. Douglas Yancey
(Held From Last Week)
The many friends in Salem of
Mrs. Hattie Dial of Porterdale
were saddened last Sunday t o
learn of her pasing on Saturday
night. Mrs. Dial spent much of
her time in Salem with her daugh
ter, Mrs. Manson Miller, and had
endeared herself to the people of
Salem, who join with friends
throughout Newton County and
elsewhere in extending sine ere
sympathy to her family.

door neighbors made Mrs. Dial’s
passing a very special loss to me
and in tribute to her I would like

titled “Lei not your heart be
troubled’’ — It reads, “Let not
your heart be troubled, long ago
the Master spoke in tender tones
and low to His disciples in the
upper room: Although their souls
would soon be filled with gloom.

would abide. For He was going
to be crucitfied. To purchase par
don free far all mankind. That
troubled he arts in Him sweet
peace might find. And still today

I we hear His voice divine — “Let
not your heart be troubled, child
’of mine.” Just trust in me, and
। let thy worries cease. For in my
presence there is perfect Peace."
That I am sure is the message
“Mama Dial,” as she was affec
tionately called by both family and
friends, would have her family to
hear — to not, “Let their hearts
be troubled” at her passing.
