“Santa Claus is Coming to
Town” and that is not just a
seasonal song! Don’t take our
word for it, just be on the
public square (Thursday) this
afternoon at 1:30 p.m. to give
eld Saint Nick a royal wel
come! There will be plenty of
time for pre-school young
sters to whisper Christmas
Stocking secrets in old Santa's
ear, before the older ones are
dismissed from school. Not on
ly the young, but the “young
in heart” will enjoy Santa’s
arrival, as time for the mo
ment turns back in its flight to
renew the wonder and joy of
Christmas!
Covington merchant* are
giving Santa full cooperation
this year, and keeping their
doors open for shopping, until
9:00 p.m. on the two Friday
evenings just before Christ
mas in December. This is truly
going to the second mile to
meet the needs of customers.
It extends a very definite
courtesy to families who de
light in shopping together, for
“Daddy” can go along too, as
well as those wives and moth
ers who also follow business
careers.
It is a well known fact that
Covington merchants offer con
sumers the finest outlay of
merchandise from both the
ttandpoints of variety and
quality, of almost any city its
size in this and many other
states. A tour of the business
district has often elicited sucn
comments from out-of-state
tourists and visitors. We firm
ly believe that Covington mer
chants can offer shoppers any
thing their hearts desire, usu
ally at much less than the same
items would cost in Atlanta
