and the Y. W. A’s of Calvary Bap
tist Church enjoyed a Mission
Study on "Hands Across the
Sea" taught by Mrs. LaMerle Day,
Mrs. Evelyn Snipes and Mrs.
Geraldine Cargile. The devotional
was brought by the Y. M. C. A’s.
Lunch was enjoyed by all present.
Miss Frances Burgess of Athens
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. R. D. Long and family.
Miss Pearl Aaron spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Cody
Aaron. Mrs. Cody Aaron will
enter St. Joseph Infirmary Thurs
day morning. We wish for her a
speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Baxter's
Thanksgiving dinner guests were
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Christian and
children and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
White and Jerry.
Mrs. Dora Cain and Mrs. Ber
nice Baxter visited Mrs. Allie
Wagner, Sunday evening.
The guests of Mrs. Vate Rey
nolds and family for the Thanks
giving holidays were Mr. and Mrs-

St. Petersburg. Fla., Mrs. L. W.
Hardy and son Bill of Branford,
Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Luke Reynolds
and son Mike of Wachula, Fla.
Our sympathy goes out to Mrs.
Luke Reynolds on the death of her
father. Mr. Frank Herring. Mr.
and Mrs. Dorsey Reynolds and
son Ronnie of Atlanta spent the
day Sunday with Mrs. Vate Rey
nolds.
Mrs. Clyde Morgan and Claudine
and Mrs. Hazel Sy' *s of Monroe
visited Mrs. Claude Yarbrough and
other relatives, Sunday.

Association Is
Organized Here
An interesting and informa
tive meeting was held Friday
evening, at Gold Crown Lanes
for the purpose of organizing
a Woman's Bowling Associa
tion.
Mrs. Dan Clower, Associate
Manager of Gold Crown Lanes,
presided over the meeting and
introduced Mrs. Louise LaHan,
National Field Representative
of Women's International
Bowling Congress. Mrs. La-
Han stated no Ladies League
could be sanctioned with
WIBC unless governed by a
city association is its parent
body.
The officers elected were
Mrs. Robert Hodges, President;
Mrs. Jack Allen, Vice-Presi
dent; Mrs. Dorothy Parr, sec
retary; Mrs. Guy Schell,
Treasurer and Mrs. Hellman
Jackson, Sgt. at Arms.
“The City Association shall
be known as the Covington
Womans Bowling Association
and will conduct and manage
any tournaments for the mem
bers, and be the governing
body of official business for
the Womans League,” Mrs.
Clower stated.
