i day. December the month of
j Christmas and all the activities
I that go along with the coming of
I Christmas. If this warm 72 degree
I weather keeps up it seems that
[ Plane View will be having two
nice magnolia blooms on the lawn
instead of a Christmas tree. Yes,
I said Magnolia blossoms, you
11 didn’t misunderstand for there are
>: two buds that are just ready to
। burst into bloom now on our little
magnolia tree. That is sort of a
December novelty I do believe.
Several Christmas parties have
already been planned. On Monday,
Dec. 11 the H. D. Club will hold
! their annual party a t the club
house at 2:30 p.m. On December
12 the Ladies Bible Class will
hold their Christmas party at the
club house. December 20 Mrs.
;J. F. Bums will entertain her
! Sunday School Class with a party
at the club house. Rev. and Mrs.
Wayne Fears will be hosts this
week for the December meeting
of the WSCS and during the holi-

On Dec. 30th the Home Demon
stration Club will hold the last
party of the year when they in
vite the former members and their
families, the Salem Lions Club
(former members of that group)
and their families to join them at
the club house at 7 p.m. for a
picnic supper, a program of enter
tainment and fellowship. Each
family will bring a picnic basket
to this party. Mrs. Hoyt Bailey,
Mrs. B. J. Matocha and Mr s.
Douglas Robertson are the com
mittee in charge of plans for this
party.
The H D. Council party last
Friday at the Teen Can building
in Covington was a lovely affair.
Salem was represented by Mrs.
J. F. Burns, Mrs. Slade Ellington,
Mrs. A. L. Hargrove, Mrs. Clif
ford Savage, Mrs. Douglas Yan
cey, Mrs. B. J. Matocha, Mrs.
0. E. White, Mrs. George White
and Mrs. G. W. Ramsey.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Savage
have returned from a weeks visit
in Miami, Fla. Their son Donald
Savage spent a few days recently
with them and on Friday, Mrs.
Savage and Donald made a trip
to Atlanta.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Bailey’s re
cent activities nave included a visit
to Mrs. Inna Bailey, a visit to
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bailey.

where she attended the Christmas
